The Cincinnati May Festival Chorus and May Festival Youth Chorus are currently auditioning singers (all voice parts) for the 2010-2011 season. Auditions for both choruses will be held throughout the month of September 2010.
Auditions will be held at Music Hall; 1241 Elm Street
Tuesday, September 7, 2010 ………. 5-10 PM
Friday, September 10, 2010 ………. 5-8 PM
Audition requirements for the adult May Festival Chorus include a performance of two solo works of contrasting styles, one to be sung in English, another in Latin, French, German or Italian. Vocalization and sight-reading are an integral part of the audition process. All auditions will be held at Music Hall and an accompanist will be provided. Rehearsals are regularly scheduled on Tuesday evenings from 7-10 PM. This premier choral organization has gained international acclaim for its annual May Festival Season and for performances with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Pops Orchestra on subscription series concerts. The May Festival Chorus is under the direction of Robert Porco.

Audition requirements for the May Festival Youth Chorus are one prepared piece, classical in nature, sight reading and vocalization. Students grades 9-12 who are actively involved in their high school music program are eligible to audition. Rehearsals are regularly scheduled on Sunday afternoons from 2:30-5 PM. The May Festival Youth Chorus is under the direction of James Bagwell and David Kirkendall.
