May Festival Friends

Since the beginning of the May Festival in 1873, there have been men and women who devoted time and efforts to the May Festival as volunteers.  In 1962, as part of a reorganization of the volunteer arm, then known as the May Festival Association, separate men’s and women’s committees were created.  Twenty years later, in 1982, the Board of Trustees approved a proposal to join the two committees into a single, strong committee to be called the May Festival Associates.

In 1993, the Board of Trustees approved By-Laws for the volunteer arm of the May Festival, to be known as the May Festival Friends.  The mission of the May Festival Friends is to support the purposes and objectives of the Cincinnati May Festival through volunteer services, fundraising and ticket sales activities, promotional efforts, sponsorship of special events and related activities.
